A look at the 2019 Gladys Winters Tournament field

Here is a look at the participating teams in the 2019 Gladys Winters Tournament, which takes place at David Allen Memorial Ballpark and NOC Enid's Failing Field:

Bixby (12-4): Of the Spartans' four losses this season, three are against opponents in the Gladys Winters field. They recently won the Tiger / Trojan Classic at the end of March. Prep Baseball Report's most recent Oklahoma poll ranked Bixby as the sixth-best team in the state. The Spartans are averaging 6.4 runs scored and 4.5 runs allowed per game.

Deer Creek (Edmond) (12-2): The Antlers have won 10 consecutive games, with its most recent two coming against Putnam City. Deer Creek outscored the Pirates 48-0 in those contests. The Antlers are ranked No. 5 in Oklahoma by Prep Baseball Report. Deer Creek averages 10.9 runs scored and 3.6 runs allowed per game.

Edmond Memorial (7-8): The Bulldogs have been up and down this season, stringing together wins, but following it with a streak of loses. Memorial is averaging 4.8 runs scored and 5.3 runs allowed per game.

Edmond North (12-4): The Huskies lost their first two games of the 2019 season, but are 12-2 since. One of those two recent losses came against an out-of-state team from Arizona. Edmond North is averaging 7.6 runs scored and 3.6 runs allowed per game.

Edmond Santa Fe (12-4): Similar to its Edmond counterpart, the Wolves started the season slow, but have since turned it around. Santa Fe has nine wins in its last 10 games. The Wolves are averaging 7.6 runs scored and four runs allowed per game.

Enid (13-4): After opening the 2019 season with its best start in at least 18 years — 10 wins, zero losses — the Plainsmen are just 3-4 in their last seven games. Prep Baseball Report still ranks them as one of the best teams in Oklahoma, coming in at No. 3 in the latest poll. Enid averages 7.9 runs scored and 3.6 runs allowed per game.

Putnam City North (7-9): The Panthers have dropped three of four games and as a result they are falling deeper into a losing record. Unfortunately for PC North, it holds a 1-4 record against opponents the the tournament field. The Panthers average 6.2 runs scored and 7.1 runs allowed per game.

Stillwater (8-6): Since the final day of last year's tournament was cancelled, the Pioneers hold the two most recent Gladys Winters titles, claiming the top spot in 2016 and 2017. Stillwater averages 6.3 runs scored and 4.4 runs allowed per game this season.

Union (5-9): The Redskins are one of just two teams that enter the tournament with a losing record. Union has lost four straight and scored a total of seven runs in those games. The Redskins are averaging 3.8 runs scored and 6.6 runs allowed per game.
