JP Holman

JP Holman is entering his 6th year as the Head Coach at Memorial. After a Covid-shortened 2020 season, the Bulldogs have won a District Title, two Regional Host bids, and two Regional Titles. Before becoming a Bulldog, Coach Holman spent 10 years at Deer Creek High School, five as the Head Coach of the Antlers. He spent the first five years as pitching coach at DC helping the Antlers to the State Tournament nine out of 10 seasons, including three times as State Runners-Up. Prior to Deer Creek he spent two years as the Head Coach at Putnam City West High School and four years on the staff at Edmond Santa Fe High School, where he led the 2006 Santa Fe AAA American Legion team to the state tournament and an American Legion State Championship in 2007. He helped guide the Wolves to four OSSAA state tournament appearances in his four years there. In the summer of 2009, JP coached for the Oklahoma City Ambassadors, a ministry baseball team founded in honor of 2002 OSSAA Baseball Player of the Year Justin Sullivan. The summer ended with a mission trip to Saltillo, Mexico, where the Ambassadors went 7-0 against minor league players from the Mexican League. Coach Holman has coached more than 100 players that have played at the collegiate level, including 17 all-staters and 34 D-1 signees. Eight of Coach Holman’s former players have signed professional contracts, including major leaguer Brian Anderson and 2016 AL Rookie of the Year Michael Fulmer currently of the Boston Red Sox. Coach Holman played two years at the University of Central Oklahoma under legendary Memorial Coach Wendell Simmons. During that time, the Broncho’s won the Lone Star Conference twice and made two trips to the NCAA Regional tournament. Holman is a 2001 graduate of Hereford High School in Hereford, Texas, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He helped lead the Herd to multiple state playoff appearances. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in the fall of 2005 and his Master’s Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. JP met his wife LeAnna while in college, and they were married in 2005. They have two sons, Quintin (10) & Ketch (6).
