Memorial girls continue dominance

The Memorial Lady Bulldogs were once again dominant as they lit up the scoreboard with 158.5 points with Southmoore a distant second with 95, just one point ahead of Edmond North in third place with 94. North earned gold medals by Chris Banks who cleared 6-8, just two inches short of his state best performance of 6-10; Parker Jackson, who won the 3200-meter run in 9:46.5; and the Huskies’ 800-meter relay team which posted a time of 1:27.5. North’s 400-meter relay squad was second and the 1600 group was third. Logan Young cleared 14-0 to claim a silver medal in the pole vault, and Turner Coleman was second in the 100 meters in 11.04. Coleman was also fourth in the 200 in 22.49. Elijah Fisher leaped 20-11 3/4 for third place in the long jump, and Ramdham Shahab was third in the 300- hurdles and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles. Jordan Hill was fourth in the 400 with a time of 50.40. Memorial had enough points in the relays (68) and field events (50) to win the girls’ division. Crislyn Cole won the shot put in 37-8 with Jaden Basset third in 36-4. Cole and Erin Talbott were 2-3 in the discus for 14 points. Taylor Norman was second in the long jump (16-11.5) and Terri Misialek was third in 16-2 3/4. Katelyn Levings cleared 5-4 for third in the high jump. The Lady Bulldogs’ 3200-meter relay team outdistanced North to win gold with a time of 9:35.55. Memorial was second in the other three relays for 48 more points. Adeline O’Conner was second in the 800 in 2:21.79 and third in the 400 in 61.0. Alysheia Joseph was second to Whitney Bridges of Southmoore in both the 100 and 200 dash events. SILVER: Maddie Medina, North, 3200, 11:40.50; North girls 3200 meter relay, 9:38.39; Mem boys 3200 relay, 8:10.15; Jay Kiefer, Mem, 800, 1:57.15; Cole Lindell, Mem, 400, 49.36; Logan Huslig, DC, 300 hurdles, 40.03; Brenden Mitchell, Mem, 200, 22.19; Jed Helker, Mem, 1600 run, 4:28.81; Mem boys 1600 relay, 3:23.62; Emma Walter, North, 1600 run, 5:13.96. BRONZE: Cole Van Vuren, SF, discus, 155-11; Keenan Lee, SF, PV, 13-6; Stepen Wells, DC, HJ, 6-4; Paxton Gary, DC, 110 Hurdles, 15.65; North girls, 400 meter relay, 49.44; North Girls 800 meter relay, 1:44.44; Emma Walter North, 800, 2:22.09; Chaya Crittendon, North, 300 hurdles, 47.60; Santa Fe Girls 1600 meter relay, 4:07.11. Edmond Santa Fe will host the 6A regional qualifying meet on Saturday with Deer Creek and Edmond North both assigned there. Edmond Memorial will travel to Putnam City for regional competition. The top 3 finishers in each event plus two at-large selections will advance to the Class 6A State Championships at Yukon on May 11-12.
