Edmond Memorial girls basketball coach Dandy Peeler is moving to an administrative role, and that means the Bulldogs need a new coach.

Edmond Public Schools athletic director Mike Nunley told The Oklahoman on Monday that Peeler had resigned following a successful seven-year tenure that led to four state tournament appearances.

Nunley said Peeler will remain in the district, but as a middle school assistant principal.

“Obviously, super proud of her and excited for her new job, but gonna miss her on the sidelines,” Nunley said in a text message. “One of the best in the state.”

Peeler, who was the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference Coach of the Year this winter, led Edmond Memorial to last season’s state quarterfinals. The Bulldogs also made the state championship game in 2012, her first season.

Peeler also coached at Choctaw and Putnam City.
