No. 5 Edmond Memorial got 20 points from Katelyn Levings in a 53-34 home victory over No. 8 NHS.

The Tigers lost their second straight game since stunning No. 3 Edmond Santa Fe a week ago.

“We’ve gotta play the right way just to have chance, so getting in foul trouble and playing catch up is not what we’re good at. We struggled tonight,” NHS coach Michael Neal said.

Memorial (14-4) led 31-16 by halftime with some of the Tigers’ top scorers — Kelbie Washington, Nyah Henderson and Turner Mattingly — on the bench.

The trio combined for 17 points. Washington led NHS (13-4) with 10 and Christina Shadid added seven.

Levings, a 6-3 forward, played a role in Memorial winning the battle inside.

“Interior play got us. They blocked a lot of shots and rebounded well and kind of beat us up down low,” Neal said.
